Calculate your monthly ad budget

Enter how many new customers you want per month and we work out the budget you need. If you do not know your conversion rate or cost per click, start with an estimate and replace it with your real numbers after the first two weeks.

Appointments, orders or messages: whatever 'customer' means for you

%

How many of 100 clicks become customers. If you do not know, start with a low estimate and replace it with your own data after two weeks.

CPC in the Meta report, in your currency. If you have no past data, enter an estimate and correct it later.

For 30 new customers a month you need roughly 1,000 clicks. That means 4,000 per month, 133.33 per day.

Start without splitting the budget

Meta applies a minimum daily budget that depends on your account currency; it tells you the exact figure once you connect your ad account. If you keep this 133.33 per day in one campaign instead of splitting it across five ads, you have a better chance of getting through Meta's learning phase faster.

Sample calculations

We divide the target customer count by the conversion rate to find the clicks needed, then multiply by the cost per click. The daily budget is the monthly budget divided by thirty.

These rows are examples prepared to show how the calculation works, not industry averages or real customer data. Enter your own estimates in the calculator above and update with real data at the end of the first two weeks.

What does this mean?

The logic of the budget calculation

An ad budget is not a number pulled out of the air; it comes backwards from your goal. If you want 30 new customers a month, you first ask: of 100 people who come to your site or WhatsApp line, how many actually become customers? That ratio is called the conversion rate. If it is 3%, 30 customers need roughly 1,000 clicks.

The second step is easy: multiply the number of clicks needed by the cost per click. If a click costs 4, your monthly budget is 4,000; divided by thirty that is about 133 per day. The same calculation gives you the cost per customer: divide the cost per click by the conversion rate; in this example a new customer costs 133.

Where will you get the conversion rate and cost per click?

If you are advertising for the first time you know neither, and that is normal. Start with an estimate but keep it low; if you enter an optimistic number the calculator shows you a budget that will not actually be enough. Run ads for two weeks, then enter the real cost per click from the Meta report and the real customer count from your own records and recalculate.

Define conversion for your own business. In a dental clinic a conversion is a booked appointment, in a cafe a customer who used the coupon, in e-commerce a completed order. You also need to count requests that come by phone or WhatsApp; otherwise the ad looks worse than it actually performs.

Meta’s daily minimum and small budgets

Meta puts a floor on the daily budget and it depends on the currency. Meta tells you the exact figure when you connect your ad account. If your calculation produces a daily budget below that floor, you either need to raise your goal a little or start from the floor and set your expectations accordingly.

The most common mistake on a small budget is splitting the money. Spread a small daily amount across five separate ads and none of them collects enough data, Meta cannot learn which one works and costs go up. One campaign, one clear goal and a few weeks of patience give far better results with the same money.

Frequently asked questions

What is Meta’s lowest daily budget?

It depends on the currency and the campaign objective. Meta shows the exact figure during campaign setup once you connect your ad account; it does not let you go below that amount.

Should I choose a daily or a lifetime budget?

If you have a campaign with a fixed duration (for example a ten-day opening sale) a lifetime budget fits. For an ad that will run continuously a daily budget is easier to manage, your spend becomes predictable and you stop it on whichever day you want.

Is there any point advertising with a very small budget?

Yes, but you need to set your expectations right. On a small budget results accumulate slowly and daily fluctuation is high; three requests come one day, none the next. Looking at the weekly total is healthier than the daily figure. Keeping the budget in one campaign also matters more on a small budget.

When should I increase my budget?

If your cost per customer is at a level that works for you and requests keep flowing, you can increase it. Rather than doubling at once, increase gradually and watch the result for a few days after each increase. Changing the budget repeatedly within the same day can put the campaign back into the learning phase.

Is this calculator free?

Yes, free and no sign-up. The calculation happens inside your browser; the numbers you enter are not sent to the server.

Don’t get stuck tracking your budget

In the Webdesiz panel you set your budget and protection rules take over the rest. They pause a campaign that exceeds its spend limit and leave a warning in the panel for an ad that brings no results. It works while you sleep.

  • The ad is created paused; no spending starts until you approve
  • A campaign that exceeds its daily spend limit stops automatically
  • The panel explains your spend and cost per customer in plain language
